I thought it was about time I showed off some of my travel pics so far. A lot of these pics I haven’t even put on Facebook or anything, because, well, one thing you will learn about me is that I’m quite the click-happy girl. I love taking photos, but that tends to mean I have 100s and 100s of pics at the end of a trip.
I’ve certainly seen some amazing things, and really covered a lot of fun sights. I believe that every day (no matter where you are) is an excuse to dress up, do fun things and feel great about yourself. As you can see in the majority of these pictures – I’m fully made up, in my finest get up - so I think it’s going to be very interesting next year when I’m going to be in basic clothes, with basic (if any) make-up. Definitely going to take some getting used to.
I really enjoy walking around places on my own and taking in the sights and sounds of everything. Chicago was the first time I really went somewhere for a longer period of time – on my own. And as weird as it was, at times, I was really proud of myself for doing it. It’s in those moments when you really realise – I’m my own person, I can do anything, I go anywhere, I can be proud of being a fully self-sufficient individual.
To be honest, I think travelling with other people will take me some getting used to now hehe. But I know next year – I’m going to really enjoy meeting other people on the road. Sharing some of the amazing experiences I have planned, with other people, is really going to be what it’s all about. (As long as I get some alone time too hehe!)
But for instance on this trip to San Francisco, I just went on my own and it was great! No-one else could come with me while I was in LA, so I just arranged it myself. Hopped on a plane and went to see the city that EVERYONE kept going on about. I arranged a city bus tour when I got there, to try and see everything, and as a result I met some really lovely people. It was extra fun because it was my own private little adventure.
I think it’s incredibly important to just GO. If there’s something you really want to see then just go and do it! There’s no point having regrets and if people can’t go with you, your photos will prove to them it was their loss! Just do it.
And remember you don’t even have to travel very far to have a great time. When me and my mom went to Bath, we had an amazing time – and it was right in the middle of a good old British heatwave! Just make the time and make the memories! That’s what it’s all about my friends.
So here I finally decided to let you in to a little secret of mine. I love love love staying in hotels. And I really don’t mind having a room to myself because just look at all the mischief I get up to ;) Being able to entertain yourself is a pretty fun talent my friends.
I can tell you’re just itching to make a booking now aren’t ya! Make your own adventures!
Love Emma xx
